In response to the winter storms that walloped Ventura County, state and federal agencies have doled out more than $5.1 million in disaster aid.

The help included money for housing assistance for those forced from their homes, money for low-interest business loans, and money for local governments to repair roads and flood channels, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Disaster assistance throughout California from both the state’s Office of Emergency Services and FEMA totaled more than $80 million, officials said.
