USDA Extends First Loan Guarantees to Vietnam

WASHINGTON —
The Agriculture Department has for the first time extended loan guarantees to Vietnam to help it finance purchases of U.S. farm goods.
The action adds Vietnam to a $90-million export credit guarantee program already in place for five other Southeast Asian markets. Last year the department opened an agricultural affairs office at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi.
