Vigilantes Split Doubleheader With Western

The Vigilantes extended their winning streak to seven games with a 2-1 victory over the Western Warriors in the first game of a doubleheader, but then saw the streak end by the same score in the second game Saturday in Western League play at Saddleback College.

Mission Viejo is 18-16 and in third place in the Southern Division. The Vigilantes are 6 1/2 games behind first-place Chico and two games behind second-place Sonoma.

Western, which stopped a four-game losing streak, is also 18-16 but is in first place in the Northern Division. The Warriors hold a two-game lead over Reno.
