Banners to Brighten Beach Boulevard

Share

About 150 banners are being hung on light poles along Beach Boulevard in an effort to dress up the busy roadway.

The city and the Huntington Beach Auto Dealers Assn. are working together on the project; the association paid for the banners, which show a stylized wave and the city’s logo, and the Department of Public Works is hanging them for free.

The banners will line Beach Boulevard, between Edinger and Adams avenues, for about a year, said David C. Biggs, the city’s director of economic development. The banners may stay up longer, depending on wear and tear.

Crews have already installed some of the banners; the rest of the work should be complete later this month.
