Drive-By Shooting Victim Gets Aid at Fire Station

A man who was wounded in a drive-by shooting stumbled into a county fire station Monday night for medical attention and was transferred to a nearby hospital, authorities said.

The man, whom police identified only as a 23-year-old Latino, was injured when shots were fired at his vehicle from a passing car in front of Fire Station 41 at 1815 E. 120th St., said Lt. Mario Barron of the sheriff’s Century station.

The victim was transferred to Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center for treatment of the wound, which was not life-threatening, he said.
