The Reno Chukars scored six runs in the ninth to defeat the Vigilantes, 11-5, in a Western Baseball League game Wednesday in front of an announced crowd of 1,175 at Saddleback College.

Reno (16-14) took a 5-4 lead in the seventh on a two-run home run by Raul Rodarte. Rodarte, a former Santa Ana College standout, had five hits, including three doubles, in six at-bats with seven runs batted in.

Things fell apart in the ninth for the Vigilantes (14-16), who needed four pitchers to get out of the inning. Three of Reno’s six runs were unearned.

After 10 batters--two walks, two wild pitches, an error and one out--Vigilante reliever Kirk Kishita entered and struck out Reno’s final two hitters, including Rodarte to end the half inning.

The Vigilantes, who scored three in the first on a home run by Alan Burke, scored once in the ninth.
