3 Beaten, 1 Dies in Apparent ‘Road Rage’
Three teenagers were chased down a city street at speeds of up to 90 mph and then were brutally beaten in an apparent “road rage” attack that killed one of them, authorities said Tuesday.
Marco Rubalcalvas, 15, died of head injuries Monday. His 18-year-old companions were hospitalized in serious condition.
No one had been arrested and police had no suspects. Witnesses said the chase started after the teenagers argued with the occupants of the second car, police reported.
The three were then chased in light traffic at an estimated 80 to 90 mph down a major street, and their car was rammed.
The witnesses said the teens’ car was pushed through a fence and overturned. At least two pursuers got out and beat the youths with aluminum baseball bats or metal poles, police said.
