If the conditions are right, there could be some very fast boys’ 100-meter times run in the Southern Section Masters Meet at Cerritos College on Friday.

That’s because the 100 field will include the four fastest sprinters in the state this year.

Sprinters who ran 10.39 or faster in the Southern Section divisional championships at Cerritos last Saturday.

Seniors Miguel Fletcher of Mission Hills Alemany and defending state champion Justin Fargas of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame clocked personal bests of 10.36 and 10.37 in the Division III race.

Two races later, juniors Darrell Rideaux and Kareem Kelly of Long Beach Poly ran career bests of 10.36 and 10.39 in the Division I final.

The top five finishers in each event in the Masters Meet will qualify for the state championships at Cerritos on June 5-6.

The Masters Meet will start with the field events at 4:30 p.m., followed by the running events at 6.
