Trumpeter Carl Saunders has played this year in big-band projects led by composer-

bandleader Gerald Wilson and his son, guitarist Anthony Wilson, but tonight Saunders will bring his own sextet to Fullerton. Reflecting the high regard in which he’s held by his peers is this comment about Saunders by composer-bandleader-

keyboardist Bob Florence: “My mouth drops open every time I hear Carl play. He can play anything he thinks of, and he thinks of everything.”
