Georgetown Receives $30-Million Donation

Share

RemedyTemp Inc. founder and Chairman Robert McDonough, who fell “in love at first sight” with Georgetown University when he first stepped onto its campus a half-century ago, donated $30 million to its business school. The gift, which will be paid in installments over several years, is the largest the school has ever received and the third-largest amount ever given to an American business school. In return, the Georgetown University School of Business will be renamed after McDonough. McDonough, 76, of San Juan Capistrano, founded the temporary employment service in 1965 and built it into a behemoth of 230 offices worldwide with annual billings of $500 million. The Aliso Viejo-based company went public in July 1996.
