At tonight’s City Council meeting, the traffic engineering division will recommend spending as much as $106,000 for “loop detectors” to improve traffic flow. The devices show when there are cars at an intersection and allow the signal lights to adjust accordingly. The detectors are being sought for five intersections on Valley View Street, two on Knott Avenue, one on Western Avenue and another on Crescent Avenue. The council meets at 5 p.m. in chambers, 6650 Beach Blvd.
