ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

Javelin Systems Inc.: The Irvine manufacturer of touch-screen computers reported record earnings and revenue for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31. Net income rose to $1.1 million, or 16 cents a share, from $353,400, or 9 cents a share, for the comparable period in fiscal 1998. Revenue almost doubled to $21.1 million from $10.6 million.
