The city’s police services division will take part in a countywide emergency simulation from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday. The drill, said Sgt. Rich White, is more a test of the city’s Emergency Operations Center, making sure disaster equipment is up to snuff, than of emergency personnel. Lake Forest contracts its police services from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The drill will simulate aftershocks 24 hours after a 6.4-magnitude earthquake. The drill is the first such exercise the city’s police services division has handled for the city.
