* @Plan Inc., a supplier of online market research, said that today it will unveil an online network for advertising agencies to streamline the process of securing Web site ad space. The Request for Proposal, or RFP, Network is designed to offer a common standard for circulating online advertising proposals between ad agencies, media buyers and Web sites. The system aims to serve the online advertising world, where campaigns must be developed and executed on “Internet time”--often a matter of a day or two, not the week or more of traditional media.

* Florida Progress Corp. shares might rise today on word that the utility, No. 2 in Florida, is close to an agreement to be bought by Carolina Power & Light Co. for as much as $5.3 billion, or about $54 a share, sources told Bloomberg News. The price would be a 21% premium over Florida Progress’ closing price Friday of $44.63.

* The International Monetary Fund has predicted that Thailand’s economic growth will reach 3% to 4% this year and could go as high as 5% in 2000. Such growth would confirm Thailand’s leap out of the Asian economic crisis that it triggered two years ago, when it floated its currency, the baht.
