At its 7 p.m. meeting tonight, the City Council will consider supporting Assembly Bill 1475, which would create a $20-million grant program for capital projects that increase bike and pedestrian safety around schools statewide. At its 4:30 p.m. meeting, the Council will review the city’s proposed 1999-2000 budget, including the seven-year Street Tree program. The program removes and replaces trees throughout the city and also repairs curbs, sidewalks and gutters. The council meets at 3191 Katella Ave. Information: (562) 431-3538.
