The Mariners’ request for more tax money to pay for their new ballpark was rejected by the state panel overseeing construction of Safeco Field, which opens July 15. The Mariners, who are considering a lawsuit to force mediation, want another $60 million to help cover $100 million in overruns on the $517 million project.
