Nevada Las Vegas 3, Northridge 1--Christian Perez had a career-high 15 saves, but it wasn’t enough for the Matadors in a MPSF game at Northridge.

The Rebels (6-8, 1-2) snapped a four-game losing streak on two goals by Ryan Cariss and one by Jason Melendez in the second half.

Melendez put the Rebels ahead, 1-0, in the 48th minute. Cariss extended the lead when he scored on a rebound of Jay Hamilton’s shot in the 57th minute.

Mike Preis of Northridge (7-8, 1-4) cut the lead to 2-1 with nine minutes to play, but Cariss scored again in the 84th minute.

Robert Achah, from La Canada High, had five saves for the Rebels.
