Dole Campaign Senior Advisor Resigning
Elizabeth Hanford Dole’s most visible senior advisor is resigning from her Republican presidential campaign, saying opportunities in the private sector are too good to pass up.
“You get to a point in your career when the prospect of less hours and more money is appealing,” communications director Ari Fleischer said Friday.
Fleischer said he is leaving on good terms.
“I’m going to miss her. I think she’s a great lady. I still think she is going to make history,” said Fleischer, who broke the news to the candidate over the Labor Day weekend.
Campaign manager Tom Daffron said Fleischer is “a good man and I’m going to miss him and the campaign is going to miss him.” Daffron hopes to announce a successor shortly.
