Irvine schools ranked within the top 75 in the county in a comparison of Stanford 9 tests, but were at the bottom of the list in some cases.

A private company called School Wise Press listed the results for basic reading and math skills based on a test students took this spring.

While University High School led the field for both math and reading in high schools and Vista Verde School was No. 1 in both subjects on the middle school level, some of the district’s elementary schools ended up far down the list.

Both Springbrook and Greentree schools came in 65th for reading and Culverdale School closed in the 69th place for math. San Joaquin High School, the district’s independent study high school, fell below the state average in reading results.
