Think “quaint Los Angeles” is an oxymoron? Then you’ve probably never visited Honolulu Avenue in Montrose, just north of Glendale. Despite what the name might suggest, you won’t find palm trees on this Main Street, USA. They would clearly clash with the small-town vibe. Instead, manicured pear trees and jacarandas line the narrow streets of businesses, many of which have been around for the last century--quite an accomplishment for a region often accused of being fickle and faddish.
