Share

The San Fernando office of the state Employment Development Department will close Friday as the jobs assistance agency prepares to move to several temporary locations throughout the San Fernando Valley.

Construction began several weeks ago on a new and permanent home for the agency at 11623 Glenoaks Blvd., Pacoima. Completion is expected by the end of the year.

In the meantime, beginning Monday, the San Fernando EDD staff will work out of the following job service offices:

The agency, which offers job placement services for youths, veterans and other job seekers, is vacating offices used since the 1950s because the lease expired, according to Arthur Tellechea, an EDD office manager.

The employment services will be available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
