The attorney for a massage parlor claimed the city wrongfully denied his client a business license during a hearing in Superior Court.

“The city acted improperly all the way through and trapped her by misadvising her,” said Roger Jon Diamond, attorney for Christine Bui Vo, owner of Body Centre on El Toro Road.

In June, Vo revived her lawsuit against Lake Forest after both the City Council and Planning Commission rejected her application for a business license.

City officials said they denied her request because one of the parlor’s employees pleaded guilty to prostitution charges and four workers were caught without the proper massage technician permits.

Even though Superior Court Judge Ronald Kline said he had enough evidence to make a ruling after the hearing, he decided to “take a look in the code and read a couple of related cases” before rendering a verdict by the end of the week.
