SCAN Taps Sam L. Ervin as Chairman

* Sam L. Ervin, president and chief executive of SCAN, has been elected chairman of the Long Beach-based seniors health plan. The company named advertising executive Kim L. Hunter to its board.

The company also named John Fielder senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications.

* Los Angeles-based United Internet Technologies Inc., a developer of interactive control technology and subsidiary of United Leisure Corp., has named Andy Rifkin chief technology officer. A former technology executive at Mattel Inc. and Time Warner Inc., he will be responsible for leading the development and commercialization of UIT’s interactive technology.

* Affinity Internet Inc., a Los Angeles-based Web hosting and application service provider, has appointed Stuart Shelly chief financial officer. He is a former senior executive of GE Capital’s Merchant Banking Group.

* Alfonso Rodriguez has been named manager of URS Corp.’s Los Angeles office. A vice president, he will be responsible for managing operations and business development for the Los Angeles-based construction management services company.

* Santa Monica-based online entertainment ticketing site Fandango has named Eden Warner vice president of finance. A former Atlantic Richfield Co. controller, Warner will be responsible for guiding financial business strategy.
