Armida V. Rodriguez, a retired Ventura County employee, died Friday after a brief illness. She was 66.
She was born June 24, 1934 in Oxnard and had been a county resident for more than 40 years. She worked in community service for Ventura County.
She volunteered many hours at “Family to Family,” a religious organization dedicated to feeding the homeless. She enjoyed reading, attending her Bible study group and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Martin J. Duran of Ventura and Ray A. Gonzalez of Santa Paula; seven daughters, Debbie L. Vera, Annette T. Fernandez, Janet L. Pina, Otilia A. Garcia and Anna L. Ochoa of Santa Paula, Helena M. Ramirez of Arizona and Olivia R. Newton of Ventura; two sisters, Gloria Chavez and Dolores Salazar of Santa Paula; one brother, John Rodriguez of Los Angeles; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Pierce Bros. Stetler Chapel in Santa Paula.
The funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pierce Bros. Stetler Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Bros. Stetler Mortuary in Santa Paula.
