Ticketing Service Is Going Wireless

Share

No longer satisfied with providing information on local events and venues via the Web, Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch last week announced it has created a division focused on delivering local content to wireless devices.

The group, based at the company’s Pasadena headquarters, will be led by Paul LaFontaine, the company’s vice president of corporate development.

Users of wireless phones and personal digital assistants that are enabled with the Wireless Application Protocol standard will be able to access restaurant reviews, reserve tee times at golf courses, and buy tickets to shows and sporting events, the company said.
