Tom Dolan of Arlington, Va., won the men’s 800-meter freestyle at the National Swimming Championships at Federal Way, Wash. Chad Carvin of Mission Viejo finished fourth. In the women’s 800-meter freestyle, Diana Munz of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, won. Kaitlin Sandeno of El Toro High finished third.
