A member of a parliamentary peace commission was kidnapped by suspected paramilitary gunmen, and a senator was abducted in a separate incident, authorities said.

Congresswoman Zulema Jattin, a member of parliament’s peace commission, was abducted Saturday in her native province of Cordoba, said Rep. Luis Fernando Velasco. Sen. Juan Manuel Lopez was kidnapped on Sunday in the same northern province, said Gen. Alfredo Salgado, assistant director of the national police. It wasn’t immediately clear which group the kidnappers belong to.
