New Chief at Maret Pharmaceuticals
Leonard R. Borrmann has been named president and chief executive of Maret Pharmaceuticals in Newport Beach. Borrmann had been chief executive at Acadia Pharmaceuticals and before that was vice president of business development at Allergan Inc.
* Susan L. Berkel has been appointed senior vice president of finance and corporate controller for PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. in Santa Ana. She joined the company in 1993 as a corporate accounting manager and was promoted to director of finance in 1995. In 1999, she was named vice president of finance and assistant controller. In addition, Marilyn Drysch was named vice president of finance and assistant corporate controller. Drysch joined PacifiCare in 1998 as senior consultant and was promoted to director of finance in 1999. Before that, she was controller for Autobytel Inc. and State of the Art Inc.
* Richard Szirbik has been appointed director of information technology for GeoLogistics Corp. in Santa Ana. Szirbik was previously director of information technology for GeoLogistics Americas, Western region, and before that, director of information technology for USF Worldwide Inc.
* David Gilmour and John Garrison have been made partners in the Newport Beach office of Kaufman Meeks + Partners. Gilmour, who has been with the architectural firm for seven years, is vice president of planning. Garrison has been with the firm for six years and is vice president of production.
* Patrick O’Connor has been named customer service manager for Trinity Golf Inc., a golf-club manufacturer in Tustin. He had been an account executive in the company’s investor relations division.
* Shannon Bass has joined Pimco in Newport Beach as senior vice president and portfolio manager on its high-grade corporate desk. Bass was most recently a managing director at Lehman Brothers in New York.
* William R. Benz has joined Legacy Electronics in San Clemente as chief financial officer. Benz was formerly a partner with Tatum CFO Partners in the Orange County office.
* Doris Hall has been named chief information officer for BAX Global in Irvine. She joined the company a year ago as vice president of global applications. Before that, Hall was senior information technology manager for eight years with Emery Worldwide. She was also an analyst with the James River Corp. and was in senior manufacturing management for 10 years at Gardner Denver Mining and Construction, a division of Cooper Industries.
* Richard K. Taylor has been named senior vice president of sales, marketing and business operations for Toshiba America Business Solutions in Irvine. Taylor continues as vice president and general manager of the Electronic Imaging division.
