From Times Wire Reports

The nation’s Reform Jewish movement has called on Jewish families and synagogues to sever all ties with the Boy Scouts, the strongest reaction by a religious group to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling allowing the Scouts to ban homosexuals from leadership posts. The group called the Scouts’ policy “incompatible with our consistent belief that every individual--regardless of his or her sexual orientation--is created in the image of God and deserving of equal treatment.” Since the court’s 1999 decision, there has been a slow exodus of high-profile financial and community support. A spokesman said the Boy Scouts continues to enjoy “tremendous” support from other religious groups.
