Higher Wages for County Workers

Share

I work for Ventura County protecting our agriculture from unwanted pests and diseases. I also work with the Service Employees International Union, Local 998 to protect workers and their families.

My responsibilities with the agriculture commissioner are to protect our county’s important crop, orchard and greenhouse commodities. Any serious pest or disease outbreak could create expensive projects to eradicate infestations.

I am writing because there are so many county workers who receive much less pay than is needed to survive and continue to live in this county. I have resided in Ventura County for 25 years. Salaries are just too low to keep up with prices rising. We need to receive parity to continue to protect our county, its residents and our resources. Please contact your county supervisors and tell them: “It’s our turn!”
