Free Coast Guard Concert a Hot Ticket
Public response to a free concert this week was so intense that local arts officials are considering arranging another similar offering.
The U.S. Coast Guard Band performed “Liberty Fanfare” at the Civic Arts Plaza on Tuesday as part of an “American Heroes Day” celebration of the contributions made by local military, police, fire and other emergency personnel.
The 1,800 tickets to the Fred Kavli Theatre were snapped up within three hours of their offering on April 8.
“Because so many will not be able to come to the live performance, we may look at doing this again,” said Ed Lewis, a vice president with Alliance for the Arts
