Woman Charged With Murder in Hit-Run

A former nurse’s aide accused of hitting a homeless man with her car and leaving him to die, stuck in her broken windshield, was charged with murder.
Chante J. Mallard, 25, of Fort Worth, also was indicted on a charge of tampering with evidence in the death of Gregory Biggs, 37.
Mallard told investigators she was returning home from a nightclub Oct. 26 when she hit Biggs as he walked along a highway, according to police records. She remains jailed on $250,000 bond.
