Bank Holdup Is 15th in County This Year
A Ventura bank was robbed Tuesday by a man who handed a teller a note demanding money and warning that he had a gun, authorities said.
The robber, who left with an undisclosed amount of cash, entered the Washington Mutual branch in the 3400 block of Telegraph Road shortly after 12:30 p.m. and handed the teller an envelope containing the note, FBI Special Agent Leane Blevins said. Witnesses described the robber as heavyset with dark hair and possibly a mustache, Blevins said
The holdup was the fourth bank robbery in less than two weeks in Ventura County and the 15th this year. Blevins said investigators are “90% positive” the robber is the same man who robbed a Mid-State Bank in Camarillo on July 26.
