Couple in Drug Case Are Arrested Again
An Oxnard couple awaiting trial on drug charges were arrested again on suspicion of selling heroin at an undisclosed playground, police said Friday.
Luis Ruben Alvarez, 31, and Guillermina Alvarez, 30, were on the grounds of a south Oxnard school with their 5-year-old son when the drug was sold, police said. At the time, children were involved in after-school activities, including Little League baseball.
The couple were booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of committing several drug offenses as well as child endangerment. Their two children were placed with a relative, police said.
The couple were released on bail on previous drug charges in March.
