Taiwan’s WHO Status
Re “Taiwan Loses Bid for WHO Observer Status,” May 20: The World Health Organization’s refusal to even consider granting observer status to Taiwan in the middle of the SARS emergency is one more example of why international organizations are useful but not a reliable guide to political morality or common sense.
