Task Force to Focus on Future of Hospital
A task force led by former Surgeon General Dr. David Satcher will hold a community forum today at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center to hear from the public about the hospital.
The panel will look at the future of physician training at King/Drew and how to help it.
The hearing will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the hospital’s auditorium at 12021 S. Wilmington Ave.
Satcher’s panel was formed after a national accrediting council ordered King/Drew to close its surgery training program in June 2004. The hospital also has been told to close its radiology residency program in June.
