Alleged Binding of Students Investigated
From Times Wire Reports
Miami public school investigators are looking into parents’ complaints that a teacher’s aide taped the hands and feet of first-grade students as punishment for behaving badly, a school district spokesman said.
The complaints allege as many as three or four students at Coral Gables Elementary School were bound with clear tape.
The school district dismissed the teacher’s aide and reassigned the teacher in charge of that classroom to a nonteaching job pending the outcome of the investigation.
