RECALL Q

Share

How can officials be sure that people who vote early using touch-screen machines don’t vote again at the polls?

*

All 12 of the early-voting locations in Los Angeles County are connected via the Internet to the county’s voter database. As soon as a voter is issued an activation card for one of the voting machines, his or her name will instantly be marked in the centralized voter rolls. When those rolls are printed out and distributed to polling precincts on election day, poll workers will be able to tell which people have voted early. The locations of the 12 early voting stations in the county can be found at www.lavote.net, or by calling (800) 815-2666.
