Judge Delays Testimony in Peterson Murder Trial
The judge in Scott Peterson’s murder trial postponed cross-examination of a key prosecution witness Wednesday, citing a “potential development” that needed to be “checked out.”
Defense attorney Mark Geragos had planned to question Peterson’s former girlfriend, Amber Frey, who testified last week that the Modesto fertilizer salesman began a relationship with her just weeks before his pregnant wife, Laci, disappeared on Christmas Eve 2002.
Peterson is accused of murdering his wife and the child she was carrying.
Superior Court Judge Alfred A. Delucchi gave no further details about the postponement. Attorneys in the case are under a gag order.
