Services Set for Dennis Carpenter
Services for former state Sen. Dennis Carpenter, who died Dec. 23, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mariners Church, 5001 Newport Coast Drive, Irvine.
The family requests that memorial donations be sent to Sutter Medical Center Foundation/Cancer Fund, 2800 L St., Sacramento, CA 95816, or Hoag Hospital Foundation for the Dennis Carpenter Memorial Fund for the Hoag Heart Institute, P.O. Box 6100, Newport Beach, CA 92658.
Carpenter, a Republican who represented Orange County for eight years in the Senate before founding a successful Sacramento lobbying firm, died of a brain aneurysm at a hospital near his ranch in Oklahoma, where he had lived since retiring in 2001.
