Lawyer Fees Are Cut in Microsoft Case

A judge cut in half a $268-million request for fees from lawyers who represented California consumers in an antitrust suit that resulted in a $1.1-billion settlement with Microsoft Corp.

San Francisco County Superior Court Judge Paul Alvarado told Microsoft to pay the lawyers $112.5 million in an order last week. The award consists of $101 million in fees and $11.5 million in expenses to be shared among lawyers at 31 law firms.

Shares of Microsoft fell 25 cents to $27.19 on Nasdaq.
