A big omelet, a little bowling

Sunny Mabrey gets enough clueless comments from people just by telling them she was raised in the Deep South (“Did your family have indoor plumbing?”), so you can imagine the reaction when folks hear she’s got a role in a new triple-X movie.

Of course, the film in question is the new action-adventure “XXX: State of the Union,” which opens Friday. The L.A. resident shares screen time with Samuel L. Jackson, Willem Dafoe and Ice Cube. It’s a long way from playing the hot chick in a Limp Bizkit video, and an even longer journey from the family outhouse in Alabama. Just kidding.

Start with sushi

I like to make Friday a simple date night with my boyfriend. It’s taken a long time since I’ve moved out here, but I’ve finally learned to love sushi, and I like to go to Katsu-ya in Studio City. There’s so much that is good -- the crispy rice, the spicy tuna, the seared albacore with crispy onions. Maybe I’d have the baked crab hand roll. After that we’d go to the ArcLight for a movie. It’s a whole moviegoing experience there, with the bar-restaurant and the gift shop, and the seating in the theater is so roomy.

On Saturday I’d start by going to Starbucks for my signature drink: a venti decaf breve latte with no foam. Even the decaf gets me going, so I can only imagine what I’d be like with a regular. A little later, I’d go to Fred 62 for breakfast, the belly-bomb omelet. It’s got chili and just about everything else you can think of.

With a breakfast like that I’d plan on skipping lunch and just go riding through the canyons with my boyfriend on his Triumph motorcycle. Later, we might go bowling out in the Valley, that place next to Jerry’s Deli [Pinz]. Maybe have a couple of drinks, have dinner and then bowl. Sometimes my game is really on and I can impress people; other times I’m just horrible.

I’m not much for clubs, so we’d just go to some dive bar and shoot pool. Or maybe play some music. My boyfriend plays guitar and I sing, and we even write songs together. Our best song is probably one called “Drone.” It’s kind of hard rock, but melodic. But we just play for the fun of it.

Easygoing church

On Sunday I’ll go to church with one of my friends. I go to Oasis Christian Center in L.A., which is nondenominational. I like it because there’s music, and the pastor’s sermons totally make him sound like a real person, not a preacher. He doesn’t drone on about things that are over your head, so it’s enjoyable. And you can wear whatever you want, so most of the time I just go in jeans and a T-shirt. It’s that kind of church.

My boyfriend has a 5-year-old son, and we might take him and our dogs to a dog park. I have a miniature pinscher, and my boyfriend has a Jack Russell terrier. After that, the boy loves sushi, so we’d grab some of that, and on Sunday night, we’d all drive out to Buena Park and go to Medieval Times, where the knights go up against each other on horseback. We love to cheer for our knight, even though it seems as if the green knight always wins.
