ABC, which already has the summer’s biggest hit in “Dancing With the Stars,” may well have another with “Brat Camp,” according to figures released Tuesday by Nielsen Media Research.

Last Wednesday’s two-hour premiere of the unscripted series chronicling the experiences of nine out-of-control teens at an Oregon wilderness school was seen by nearly 10.4 million people, making it the fourth-most watched show in prime time last week.

It was the second-highest debut of a series during television’s summer season. Only “Dancing With the Stars” had more, drawing more than 13.5 million viewers for its June 1 debut.

The CBS unscripted series “Rock Star: INXS” struggled to find an audience in its first three episodes. Its July 11 premiere was 44th for the week and fourth in its 9-10 p.m. time slot with nearly 5.5 million viewers.

Viewership for its second episode a day later increased 11% to about 6.1 million, third in its time slot. Then the Wednesday episode dropped to about 4.6 million viewers, also third in its time slot.

Fox’s coverage of baseball’s All-Star game drew about 12.3 million viewers, the smallest audience in the 38 years the game been televised in prime time. However, it was the week’s second-most-watched show.

CBS was the most-watched network for the seventh consecutive week, averaging more than 6.7 million viewers.

The network also led among viewers 25 to 54, its core audience, for the third consecutive week.
