Tunisian to Be Deported Over Sham Marriage
A Tunisian man who entered into a fake marriage with a former female professional football player in order to stay in the United States was sentenced Monday to time served and ordered deported.
Mohammed Hrizi, 38, pleaded guilty in April to immigration fraud. Arrested and behind bars since December, he agreed to be deported to Tunisia.
Hrizi admitted that he agreed to pay Unique Livera McKinney, a former defensive linebacker for the Los Angeles Amazons, $400 on the day of their marriage in November 2002, in addition to $200 a month for the length of their union, authorities said.
McKinney also could face charges, authorities said.
