From Associated Press
DHAKA, Bangladesh —
A storm lashed Bangladesh with lightning and rain Sunday, killing at least 17 people, injuring more than 100 others and leveling about 1,000 homes, news reports said.
The dead were all struck by lightning, and the injured were hit by falling trees and the debris of huts that collapsed in the storms, New Age and Inqilab newspapers reported today.
Deadly storms are common this time of year in this delta nation of about 140 million people.
