2 Held in Fatal Crash During Race

Two men were arrested Friday on suspicion of murder and vehicular manslaughter in connection with a Norwalk street race in which a third driver was killed.

Julio Cesar Esparza, 21, of Los Angeles and Hugo Limon, 20, of Bellflower are suspected of hitting a woman who was making a left-hand turn in front of their speeding cars during an Oct. 23 street race on Alondra Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Esparza is being held on $1.3-million bail and Limon is being held on $1-million bail.

The victim, In Cha Kim of Cerritos, was on her way to visit her family, officials said.

Seven other people, all teenagers and young adults in the two speeding cars, were injured, authorities said.
