A Delay in Naming New Los Alamos Contractor
From Times Wire Reports
The Energy Department said that it won’t meet its Dec. 1 deadline to announce a winner of the contract to manage Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Vying for the Los Alamos contract are two teams, one headed by Lockheed Martin Corp. and the University of Texas and the other by the University of California and Bechtel Corp.
UC has managed the lab since it was created during World War II to develop the atomic bomb.
No new deadline was announced.
