From Times Wire Reports

In a bid to lure casino mogul Steve Wynn back to New Jersey, state Sen. William L. Gormley has proposed gutting Atlantic City’s historic Boardwalk Hall to house a $3-billion retail mall and hotel casino. The plan would preserve the facade, but as a shell.

The Depression-era arena has played host to The Beatles, the 1964 Democratic National Convention and dozens of Miss America crownings.
