ABC will air five new reality series this summer, including an “American Idol”-like competition with the winner receiving a contract with a major record company, the network announced Monday.

“The One: Making a Music Star” will follow the lives of contestants attending a music academy that turns aspiring singers into stars, with viewers voting out contestants each week.

“Buy It Now” has families putting a variety of prized possessions up for auction on EBay. Friends and neighbors will also offer items to be auctioned to help the family raise money so it can realize a dream.

“How to Get the Guy” follows four young, attractive women in San Francisco as they seek the right man, assisted by two “love coaches”: writer Teresa Strasser and J.D. Roberto, who has previously hosted such shows as “Food Fight” and “Shop ‘Til You Drop.”

“Master of Champions” pits six competitors with some of the world’s most unusual talents against each other in extreme challenges.

“One Ocean View” is a look at young New York City professionals who flee Manhattan on Friday afternoons and share a house in an exclusive beach community for the weekends.
