Deadline to register to vote is today

Those who haven’t registered to vote in the Nov. 7 election can still do so, through today. Mail-in forms are available at most county buildings, city halls, fire stations, libraries, state motor vehicle offices, public assistance offices and post offices. An online voter registration form is available at www.ss.ca.gov.

Voters in Los Angeles County can cast ballots early at the registrar-recorder/county clerk’s office in Norwalk, 12400 Imperial Highway. It will be open Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Nov. 6. It will be open the weekends of Oct. 28-29 and Nov. 4-5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Beginning Oct. 25, early touch-screen voting also will be available at 16 other locations throughout the county.

Voters who are visually impaired can use the electronic voting units with the help of audio headsets or large-size text. Electronic ballots are available in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese.

Those who wish to vote by absentee ballot must submit a written request for a ballot no later than seven days before election day. A complete and signed application should be sent to the registrar-recorder. An electronic absentee ballot request form is available at www.lavote.net.
